The Indigo Velvet Worm! A truly wonderful fellow, to be sure, but I worry I haven’t quite done them justice. See, pretty much every fact listed applies to *every single kind of Velvet Worm out there!!!* They’re just so obscure and interesting, I couldn’t help it. And so, to justify that, here’s a nice fun fact about our Indigo friend, specifically: While most Velvet Worms breathe through spiracles (tiny holes in the sides of the body) that open and close, these guys’ spiracles are permanently open! This means more oxygen intake but also mean they lose moisture a lot faster, so they need to stay in moist and humid environments!
(Wow!)
