The Queen Alexandra’s Birdwing! That’s a feather in my cap! Named after Alexandra of Denmark, these critters are one of 3 insects which are illegal to trade internationally! Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to stop people. However, immoral as the trade may be, the main threat to these butterflies is actually habitat loss (a volcanic eruption in the 1950s and palm oil plantations have destroyed much of their range)!
