Tamtams

The most esteemed gladiator of The Pits, reigning champion for over 15 years, famed just as much for their strong sense of honor and fairness as their swift blows and efficient brutality. Once they served as a mere mascot for the games (humans were unallowed to compete because it was thought their ungodly stamina and general lack of unique physiology would make the games “too boring”), but one day the King of The Pits thought it Would be funny to make the mascot fight (or rather, he thought it’d be funny to see the mascot brutally killed). Instead, Tamtams (the mascot’s name, the person inside is still unknown) proceeded to dominate every champion thrown at them (it seems a lifetime of watching and studying brutal shows of combat leaves one with something). Now a fan-favorite, the King wouldn’t be able to get rid of the faded-blood-stained, vaguely-encouraging-slogan-shouting mascot if he tried.
